Revolutionising Public Transport with ANT Technology

Move over, rail and bus: Autonomous Network Transit (ANT) delivers high capacity urban transit at half the cost and twice the convenience.

Zero emissions. Fully autonomous.

High capacity

ANT delivers the capacity of light rail, metro and bus

Half the cost and space

Half the space consumption in cities, half the cost to build and operate compared to metro, light rail and bus on a like-for-like capacity basis.

Twice the convenience

Personal vehicle available 24/7/365 on demand. Public transit never felt better.

Zero emissions

Zero emissions during operation. Vastly lower emissions during construction compared to rail and bus based systems.

100% autonomous

Maximum operating efficiency, minimum cost.

Subsidy free

Most medium and high capacity ANT systems can be built, financed and operated without government subsidies.

The Visionary Origins of Anterra

The Anterra team has pioneered Autonomous Network Transit technology since 2014.

Sydney, Australia. 2014

The ANT revolution started 2014 in Sydney, Australia. Founded by Lars Herold as part of his company Green Light Group Pte Ltd, Lars and his team have developed significant intellectual property in the field of autonomous urban transport. Lars co-authored several ANT patents.

Today Anterra Pte Ltd is a Singaporean company with a base in Australia. We also have other interests in US based transit startups.

Our foundations: High capacity mass transit in large Asian cities

Moving 40,000 to 100,000 people per hour is what our thinking is based on. Everything we do at Anterra is designed to scale to this level of capacity – eventually.

Urban transport is our passion. Green Light Group has been designing and optimising urban rail and bus systems in Asia/Pacific, Europe and the Americas, including in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Chile, Colombia and other regions since 2003.

Our R&D journey

In January 2018 Green Light Group formalised its R&D activities in the ANT field under its R&D project name “Dromos”.

In 2021 the Dromos R&D team and its partners PriestmanGoode (design), Buro Happold (civil engineering) and RLB(quantitative surveyor) successfully completed the concept design for an autonomous transport system in the UK based on our ANT technology.

In 2023 we have launched our 3rd generation ANT technology platform called Anterra. Anterra’s mission has been to turn our R&D work into reality and building a real-world ANT system. Anterra uses our 3rd generation ANT tech platform and latest advances in autonomy and AI.

Our services

Feasibilty studies

We work with transport agencies, governments and planning agencies on an advisory basis on all aspects of assessing and planning ANT solutions

  • Concept desgin
  • Business cases
  • Geotech
  • Network simulations
  • Demand analysis
  • Videos, renderings & 3D models
  • Costings of ANT vs metro rail, light rail, VLR, Bus Rapid Transit and Trackless Tram

Design & Construct

We bring together the team to develop ANT pilots, as well as design and construct ANT systems.

The Anterra team members have planned, built and commissioned large transport infrastructure projects in major cities around the globe, including Hong Kong and Sydney.

Operate & Maintain

Anterra works with transport agencies and governments as a private contractor, concessionaire or franchisee to operate and maintain ANT public transit systems.

Meet our transit innovators

Our innovators have moved skyscrapers, bored train tunnels, designed underground mazes and commissioned metro, BRT and LRT systems in the world’s largest cities.

Now we’re ready to turn the page on rail and bus – the next chapter in transit is ANT
